Bros, ito ang opinion ko:
When we received Jesus Christ as our personal Lord and Savior, the Holy Spirit dwells in us -- indwelling of the Holy Spirit. Thus, we have the Holy Spirit when we received Jesus in our hearts. Eph. 1:13-14 says that the Holy Spirit seals us that we are God's possession.
Ephesians 1:13-14
"And you also were included in Christ when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation. Having believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, 14who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God's possession—to the praise of his glory."However, even though we have the Holy Spirit, we may not be filled by Him.
Ephesians 5:18 says:
"Do not get drunk on wine, which leads to debauchery. Instead, be filled with the Spirit."Thus, we are grieving the Holy Spirit because we are not obeying Him.
Ephesians 4:30 says:
"And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, with whom you were sealed for the day of redemption."Now, regarding prayer for one to be filled by the Spirit, that would be great! We have to pray for the Holy Spirit to fill us so that we may do His will.
In the Old Testament, people were filled by the Holy Spirit in different manners, and one of which is the laying on of hands. However, there were also instances that laying on of hands was not the evident manner to be filled by the Holy Spirit. I forgot the references.
Find the booklet of Dr. Lavender (forgot his first name!). The book's title was something like... forgot also eh... basta may Holy Spirit yung title.
(Sana may Pastor tayo dito para icheck yung opinions ko.)
